Great point. I believe that you hit it right on the mark when you say that there is a sense of what needs to be accomplished when it comes to reading the word. There is a sense of willingness that is stolen from people who become too busy to actually study it. The power against it is real and if we don't seek to obtain that true perfection in it then we lose the sense of what needs to be accomplished. The more we read, the more we become one with this knowledge. We as Americans have grown to a point where we have been given so much to be thankful for, yet refuse to realize just how important it is to remain humble. I went through a season in my life where it was necessary to fast in such a way that over time I realized I was loosing a lot of my strength and the nourishment needed to sustain health. I felt like I had survived through what it felt like to go hungry in a third world country. I had gone through so much turmoil and stress in a series of events for an extended amount of time in which in became prevalent the Lord was placing me in an experimentation of his will to receive insight from the experience. It felt as though I were living in a third world country and was suffering exactly as those who suffered from hunger. I know it was not the same exact experience, but it was an experience I will never forget. I became humble through weakness... a weakness I had never realized before. We as Americans have everything we need for our diets. This has allowed us to become strong and thus of course pride steps in. It's only natural to exhalt our opinion above man's because of the fact we have no reason to rely or cling to him. Our country has an answer for everything and we are not forced to rely on Him. I've met several pastors who would rather preach in a congregation that was of a third word nature any day over American culture simply due to the fact that we are not hungry for him.
I know when this country realizes that it's economy will not continue to last as it does right now then we will realize that getting back to the heart of real wisdom will have to suffice. We will survive on the land and become reliant on his hand to guide and strengthen us. No longer will we have a touch of a button to deliver our goods. No longer will we have a store and a mail system to safely administer every desire available from every corner of the earth. We must realize that we have never before existed in an age where all things are possible. All transportation to anywhere is possible and all obtainable knowledge and influence is possible. I once saw a show several years back where it presented a hieroglyphic with two lines; the line on the bottom signified the real earth. The line on top, running horizontal signified the "out of reach" doctrine with stick men on it. Thus signifying an age where we are out of touch with the true wisdom of the world. Something then happens and the line on top returns to the bottom line; thus allowing man to return to his rightful place of heritage in the world.
When man realizes that he is to be humbled ; (pride comes from the fall) then he will reach for a higher calling and truth. The Lord is slow and patient, however, the ultimate goal is to fulfill ever pen stroke and conclude the ulitimate righteousness within his people he has called for.
This is why we never should plan for tomorrow as this will have it's own worries. God will working everyday and is concluding it's works on earth in it's sufficient timing. Joyce Myers had a wonderful spiritual insight the other day down in Charleston, SC. She stated, "Never before have we been brought into a world where the deception was so strong that reaching the true knowledge would be ever most difficult". She shared the following scripture of
The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The Lord knows his sheep and is bringing them all into accountability of their ways in due process. We can just simply sit back, pray and let him do his works. He always comes through and he always shows his way truly and perfectly without flaw.
